Three million American viewers of the ABC series "LOST" were finally awarded a $12 billion ruling for their loss of time and dignity.
"This is a victory for TV viewers everywhere!" said attorney Dick Serpentini, who filed the class-action suit on behalf of "LOST" fans.
The suit was brought against ABC shortly after the disappointing series finale in May of 2010.
"We felt so cheated," said Victoria Munson, avid fan throughout the series' run. "How could they let 'Battlestar Galactica' have a better ending?"
Serpentini attributes the victory to narrow requirements for "LOST" class-action plaintiffs.
"We only represented fans that could prove that they not only saw every episode, but blogged about and bragged about it to all their friends and families."
Serpentini sucessfully argued that "LOST" had ruined countless relationships and reputations.
"ABC made fools of my clients," he said. "They were like Trekkies without the sense of shame!"
The "LOST" ruling is said to have raised hopes for disenfranchised "Heroes" fans everywhere.
